C, D, E!
An Art & Music Studio read-along picture book.
Piano lesson two: C, D, and E!
Hi friends! It's me, Ivy Keys. Welcome back to my music room!
Last time, we found middle C. It's the white key just to the left of the two black keys, the twins.
Today, we'll learn the names of the white keys, and play our very first song!
Every piano key has a letter name, from the musical alphabet.
The musical alphabet has just seven letters. A, B, C, D, E, F, G.
After G, the letters start all over again at A. Again and again, all the way up the piano!
Let's start at home base. Find the twins. The white key just to their left is C.
Now, look between the twins. That white key is D.
D sits right in the middle of the twins, like a puppy in its doghouse!
And the white key just to the right of the twins is E.
C, D, E. Left of the twins, in the middle of the twins, and right of the twins!
Hi, Ivy! It's me, Pemmo! Can I try?
Of course, Pemmo! Where is D?
Between the twins! Like a puppy in its doghouse!
That's right! Now, let's go up. C, D, E.
And back down. E, D, C.
Every pair of twins has its own C, D, and E. Watch them light up, from low to high!
I found lots of E's!
Now, here's our very first song. It's called Three Little Steps, and it uses only three notes: C, D, and E.
Listen first. Watch the keys light up, and read the letters.
Now, it's your turn! Use one finger, and play along in the air, or on your own keyboard.
Wonderful! You learned the musical alphabet, and you found C, D, and E.
And we played a real song! Hooray!
Can you remember?
How many letters are in the musical alphabet?
Where is D?
Which white key is just to the right of the twins?
You did it!
Next time, we'll meet two new notes, F and G, and use all five fingers!
Keep practicing, friends. See you at the piano! Bye-bye!
