F, G and Five Fingers!
An Art & Music Studio read-along picture book.
Piano lesson three: F, G, and five fingers!
Hi friends! It's Ivy Keys. I'm so happy you're here!
Let's remember. Find the twins. C is on the left, D is in the middle, and E is on the right.
Today, we'll meet two new notes, and play a song with all five fingers!
Now, look at the three black keys. The triplets!
The white key just to the left of the triplets is F.
And the next white key, between the first two triplets, is G.
Now our letters go C, D, E, F, G!
Hi, Ivy! It's Pemmo! I found an F! It's right next to the triplets!
Great job, Pemmo! Friends, can you find all the F's? Look just to the left of every set of triplets.
And now, find all the G's. Look between the first two triplets.
F and G! F and G!
Now, let's meet our fingers. Hold up your right hand.
Every finger has a number. Your thumb is number one.
Your pointer finger is two. Your middle finger is three.
Your ring finger is four. And your little pinky is five!
Wiggle them with me. One, two, three, four, five!
Now, let's put our right hand on the piano. Your thumb, finger one, goes on middle C.
Then each finger gets its own key. Two on D, three on E, four on F, and five on G.
This is called five-finger position. One finger for each key, with no skipping!
Let's climb up. C, D, E, F, G.
And back down. G, F, E, D, C.
Up and down, like stairs!
Now, let's listen to a song you might know. Mary Had a Little Lamb. It uses fingers one, two, three, and five.
Watch the keys light up, and the finger numbers.
Now, it's your turn. Put your hand in five-finger position, and play along in the air, or on your own keyboard!
Fantastic! You found F and G, you learned your finger numbers, and you played with five fingers!
High five! Get it? Five fingers!
Can you remember?
Which white key is just to the left of the triplets?
Which finger is number one?
Where does your thumb go in five-finger position?
You did it!
Next time, we'll learn how music is written down, on five lines called the staff.
Keep practicing, friends. See you at the piano! Bye-bye!
